The Indiana football just opened up camp for the 2020 season in hopes that the season can be played. We update our Big Ten predictions for the season.

The Big Ten announced their schedule earlier this week and it left some teams happy and others maybe not so much. Indiana has a brutal early schedule while Iowa does not. Michigan and Ohio State will not play to end the year, but Purdue and Indiana will.

They set up two bye weeks and buffer week to try and get every game in. It will be interesting to see how it moves forward but right now football is going to be played.

With the new schedule, we update our Big Ten predictions starting with the Big Ten West.

Indiana Football: Big Ten Predictions

Big Ten West

Northwestern – Record 1-9

Wins – Purdue

Loss – Michigan State, Penn State, Nebraska, Michigan, Maryland, Iowa, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Illinois

The Wildcats were bad last year, but they brought in former IU quarterback Peyton Ramsey to hopefully stabilize the quarterback position. He will make a difference, but they are still low on talent in Evanston so it won’t matter much. They will be a pesky team this year but will lose a bunch of close games.

We think they will bring up the rear in the West, but with Pat Fitzgerald leading the way don’t be surprised if they pull off a couple of upsets this year. But honestly, their ceiling is probably three wins, max.

The thought was they would play Indiana in their 10th game and it would be a fun homecoming game for Peyton Ramsey. Instead, they get to host Michigan in the last game of the year. They get the dubious task of being the first team to play the Wolverines at the end of the year besides Ohio State. It would have been tough for the Wildcats to beat Michigan anyway, but you know the Wolverines are going to be ready to finish the year off right.
