4. Iowa State

The Cyclones have rarely if ever been talked about when the Big Ten looks to expand but is a school that they should highly consider. Just like some of the other schools on this list, it fits in geographically and they are also apart of the AAU.

Iowa State already plays Iowa every year in football, so why not make it a conference game. They have been a good football team and their basketball team would compete well in the Big Ten.

They aren’t the obvious choice to join the conference, but when you dig deeper it actually makes a lot of sense. They are not a bad trip for any of the West teams in the Big Ten and would lock down the state of Iowa for the Big Ten.

The Big Ten is also very familiar with the Cyclones as many schools have played them in a sport or two.

Again this may not be the obvious choice but would be a solid addition to the Big Ten and the conference could do a lot worse, see Rutgers.
