The Indiana basketball team is looking to add a highly rated recruit when he makes his decision on Thursday night.
Trey Patterson, a 4-star small forward from New Jersey, announced on his Twitter page two weeks ago that he would announce his college decision on his birthday June 18th. It was still not known who his top schools were or how he would do it. That all changed Monday when it was reported that he was down to three teams and Indiana was one of them.

Patterson has narrowed his list down to three teams which also includes Florida and Villanova. The Wildcats have 100% off the crystal ball projections, but Indiana has steadily been climbing up the list for Patterson, and being included in his top three is a big deal.
Patterson had offers from over 20 schools and will be a big-time get for whoever he chooses. All of these teams have a lot to offer, but the Hoosiers are currently the thinnest at the small forward position and that could possibly make a difference.
He is ranked as the 34th best prospect for the 2021 class according to 247sports composite rankings. At 6’8″ and just 170 pounds he has room to put on some weight but has the size to be an impact player right away.
The Hoosiers offered him in early 2019 and he took his official visit to Bloomington on October 11th. He told Zags Blogs that he enjoyed his trip and what IU had to offer:
"“I enjoyed that I was able to experience what a college atmosphere is like,” said Patterson. “I met the coaches and players. They want me to be a versatile wing that can do everything: guard multiple positions, handle the ball, etc.”"
