Indiana Basketball: Who plays point guard in 2020-21?

The Hoosiers return Rob Phinisee, who did a good job running the point last year, but will he b eth starting guy when the new season opens up?

Indiana brought in one of the best point guard recruits in the country in Khristian Lander and he is the perceived point guard of the future. But is the future this year?

Lander has a ton of talent and potential, but he is still going to be a young freshman next year. He should be a very good player for the Hoosiers, but will he be ready to jump right in next year and take the reigns of the Indiana team?

It is a lot of questions for the Hoosiers, but the kind that would make any team happy to have. They have an established point guard and one of the top talents coming in. Most teams would be excited to be in this exact same position.

More than likely we will see Phinisee starting at the point to start the year with Lander being his backup. Lander, though, has the talent to beat him out for the position and it would be no surprise is he was the point guard when the season starts.

The good thing is that with campuses starting to open up again it should allow Lander to get to Bloomington and start working out with the team. If that somehow gets delayed then it will give Phinisee the inside track to be the guy.

Either way, it looks like the Hoosiers will be in good hands with whoever is playing the point. Both have tremendous upside and will bring a lot to the table for Indiana. It is even possible to see both of them on the court at the same time and it will be fun to watch.
