Indiana Basketball: Analyzing recruits

Trey Patterson:

Indiana has been involved in Patterson’s recruitment for a while now. In the early stages, Indiana was at the top of his list but Indiana’s involvement has slowly lessened. Patterson recently revealed his top 10 schools, which included Indiana, Villanova, Rutgers, Florida, Memphis, UConn, Maryland, Tennessee, Auburn, and Arkansas. Experts believe that Patterson is a hard Villanova lean. Rival’s and 247’s crystal balls both have him going to Nova. Patterson is set to commit on June 18th per his twitter page.

Blake Wesley:

Blake Wesley holds offers from Indiana, Purdue, Butler, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Maryland, and many, many others. His recruitment has been quiet and relatively drama-free up to this point, however, Wesley is from South Bend, so you figure Notre Dame is high on his list. According to Inside The Hall, IU has been in contact regularly throughout this spring and have told Wesley that they want him bad.

As of now, It looks like Longino is a Nova lean, however, he has admitted interest in Indiana and has said that his recruitment is wide open. If Indiana doesn’t land Mohammed, expect their recruiting efforts towards Longino to increase.

Mason Miller:

Son of former NBA player Mike Miller, Mason is an extremely talented stretch four. Many assumed that Miller was a lock to play for Memphis as his father was an assistant coach there. Recently, Miller stepped down as an assistant coach which breaks his recruitment wide open. Miller has only a few offers currently as he has been recruited by Memphis, TCU, Creighton, and most recently, Indiana. Miller is a similar player to Trey Kaufman, therefore, it would not be surprising if Coach Miller sees Mason Miller as a backup option in case Kaufman commits elsewhere.
