Indiana Basketball has offered class of 2022 guard Bruce Thornton a scholarship.

Bruce Thornton, a point guard out of Alpharetta, Georgia, is the most recent high schooler to receive a scholarship offer from Archie Miller, per his Twitter.

Thornton currently ranks 31st in his class and seventh out of all 2022 point guards nationwide. He comes in at 6’0”, 180 lbs. Thornton is a good passer and identifies himself as a player who seeks to make plays for his teammates.

In addition to his passing ability, Thornton can score. He has a stocky build, which gives him the strength he needs to get where he wants to go on the basketball court. It also allows him to create his own shot, which he can do from inside the paint or behind the three-point line.

Thornton averaged 23 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 6.1 assists per game for Milton High School last season and led them to the 7A state semifinals in Georgia.

Indiana has some steep competition for Thornton. Purdue, Georgia, Auburn, Alabama, Florida, and Xavier are a just a sampling of the other schools actively recruiting Thornton.

It may be early, but Thornton would be a very nice piece for the Hoosiers to pick up. Archie Miller is just now beginning to do more than just dip his toes into recruiting the class of 2022. Indiana already has one Georgia player on the roster in Al Durham, and Thornton would make an excellent Georgia-to-Indiana prospect.
