Indiana football: Predicting every 2020 game

vs Illinois – November 14th

The Fighting Illini are coming off a surprise bowl berth and return their starting quarterback in Brandon Peters and are out to prove that last year was not a fluke. This is not going to be an easy game for the Hoosiers, but one they need to win because of how rough their schedule is. The Hoosier sare a little beat up in this game after their three straight games against top opponents, but they still find a way to win as Whop Philyor has a big game. The Hoosiers snap a two-game skid and improve to 8-2 on the year with a close win.

@ Michigan – November 21st

Will this finally be the year that the Hoosiers can get over the hump and beat Michigan? They struggled last year but were without both Penix Jr and Philyor and lost Scott in the first half. If they had everyone healthy it might have been a different story. The Wolverines have a lot of questions but are still a very good football team. This is yet another game that the Hoosiers will be helped out if there are no fans in the stands. Either way, I think they put a good fight but this stretch of games is just too much for the Hoosiers and they drop their third out of four games.

vs Purdue – November 28th

The Hoosiers brought the Old Oaken Bucket home to Bloomington last year and they are not looking to give it back. If this season goes according to how I predicted it, this game would be for a nine-win regular season for the Hoosiers. If you haven’t been paying attention that doesn’t happen very often. It also could give the Hoosiers a second straight year with a bowl game in Florida and possibly a New Year’s day game.

Purdue had a tough year and will be looking to bounce back, but the Hoosiers have more talent, are playing at home, and should more to play for. This will be a tough hard-nosed game that will be close throughout. But the Hoosiers are able to pull off a second-straight win against the Boilermakers and finish the season 9-3.
