Indiana football: Predicting every 2020 game

vs Michigan State – October 24th

The second half of the schedule is rough for the Hoosiers and it starts with a home game against the Spartans. Last year this game seemed like a turning point for the Hoosiers. Yes, they lost the game, but it showed they could play tough with a perceived top dog of the Big Ten. The Spartans would struggle the rest of the way and the Hoosiers would eventually finish ahead of them, but the loss still stung. They were in the game to the very end and scored a lot of points on their vaunted defense.

The Hoosiers hope they can finish it this year and get some revenge. I think that is exactly what they will do. The Spartans will still be trying to get on the same page with their new coach Mel Tucker and the Hoosiers take advantage of. They pick up a big home win and sit at 7-0 and they are dreaming big.

vs Penn State – October 31st

This is the other game that Indiana was so close to winning. They were right with the Nittany Lions into the fourth quarter last year but just couldn’t breakthrough. This year, just like Michigan State they get them at home and look to go 8-0 and look like a serious threat in the Big Ten East. Penn State still has their quarterback Sean Clifford who the Hoosiers struggled to contain and they will again this year. The dream start for the Hoosiers comes to a halt as they finally lose their first game in a close game.

@ Ohio State – November 7th

The Buckeyes are loaded. They still have Heisman front-runner Justin Smith at the helm and still are the best team in the conference. This will be a tough game for the Hoosiers even if there are no fans in the stands. Ohio State can win anywhere and it is even tougher to beat them at home. The Hoosiers put a fight early and score on the Buckeyes but the defense of Indiana shows some cracks and just can’t get enough stops. Ohio State wins comfortably as Indiana drops its second straight.
