Bleacher Report

Bleacher Report’s Daniel O’Brien commented on how adept Oladipo was at handling interviews, which is largely a consensus remark about him. General Managers and journalists alike loved his attitude and charming nature. O’Brien writes about Oladipo:

"“He will bring his poised demeanor to the NBA hardwood every night, as he’s the type of player who’s focused and playing high-intensity hoops on every possession.”"

O’Brien compared Oladipo to former Celtics and Grizzlies guard Tony Allen. His floor was that he’d become like Tony Allen; not quite what you’d hope to get from a top-five pick, but still a valuable NBA player to have. O’Brien did believe, however, that Oladipo would vastly surpass Allen and would become far more of an impact player.

In regards to Oladipo’s skillset: here is what O’Brien had to say:

"“He can’t consistently generate scoring chances off the dribble, so he won’t be exceedingly effective on that end of the floor as a rookie. However, Oladipo’s the type of player who can develop all areas of his game, so he’ll eventually be a good playmaker. When you consider his explosiveness, body control, defensive talent, and offensive potential, it’s easy to see why stardom is attainable.”"
