In a new series, we give you an in-depth breakdown of every member of Indiana basketball incoming recruiting class. First up, Jordan Geronimo.

Jordan Geronimo, a four-star, 6’6″ 195 lbs small forward from New Jersey was an unknown entity entering the summer before his senior year. These days, Geronimo is cracking the ESPN Top 100. This past summer, Geronimo competed in the Adidas Gauntlet Summer Championships with the AAU team Mass Rivals.

Geronimo blew onto the scene as a potential high-major player during this tournament averaging 13.3 points per game on 54 percent from the field and 35.4 percent from three. He’s also added 3.9 rebounds per game. Though his numbers during this event may not blow off the page, Geronimo attempted more than 10 shots just four times this season. His athleticism and potential were obvious.

After the tournament ended, high major programs such as Boston College, Georgia, Penn State, and more came calling. Eventually, Archie Miller and his staff extended an offer. Geronimo wasted no time and quickly accepted.

When asked about what made him commit to IU he said,

"“Indiana’s pitch was explaining to me how they were going to use me in their system and how I could be a basketball star in the next couple of years under the right development,” he explained. “He started listing NBA players that he coached and I’m not going to lie, that kind of got me feeling some type of way.”"

It’s clear that Archie Miller made quite an impression on the kid.

During his senior year at The St. Paul’s School in Concord, NH, Geronimo continued to ascend to new heights. He averaged 18 points per game along with nine rebounds, two blocks, two steals, and two assists per contest.

He shot 47 percent from the field overall. Geronimo also was a stud on defense. Geronimo recently told the Hoosier Hysterics Podcast that he prides himself on defense and it’s something he works on.

Geronimo finished the season with a collection of awards and honors. He was named Gatorade player of the year for New Hampshire. This is no small feat as New Hampshire is a state in which talent such as Terrence Clarke and Jamal Mashburn play. Geronimo also made first-team all-conference.
