SF – Eric Gordon

With the backcourt now finalized, it’s time to take a look at some forwards and centers. We’ll start with the small forward position. Now it’s at this point where this lineup can take two directions. I could cheat a bit and start Eric Gordon at the small forward or I can play by the rules and start OG Anunoby at the spot. Due to the extreme value of shooting in today’s game, I am going to go ahead and put Gordon at the small forward.

Gordon was one and done for Indiana during the Kelvin Sampson era. During his one season, Gordon dropped 21 points a game en route to ROTY and first-team All-Big Ten honors. In the decade-plus since Gordon played at IU, he has gone on to put together a very successful NBA career. He’s gotten buckets on the Clippers, Hornets-turned-Pelicans, and the Rockets. He actually dropped 50 points against the Jazz in a pre-COVID game on January 27th.
