Indiana Football: Hoosiers offer in-state 2022 quarterback scholarship
By Adam Childs
The Indiana football team offered a scholarship to Tayven Jackson, a quarterback for Center Grove, IN. He is the brother of IU basketball player Trayce Jackson-Davis.
The Hoosiers kept it in the family this weekend as they offered Trayce Jackson-Davis’ brother a football scholarship. Tayven Jackson is a 6’5″ quarterback from Center Grove High School in Greenwood, Indiana. He announced on his twitter page that he was grateful for the offer.
Jackson led his high school to a runner-up finish in the state tournament in 2019. He about led his team back from a 20-3 fourth-quarter deficit against conference rival Carmel.
Indiana is his second Division One offer as Central Michigan offered him earlier in the week. Jackson is a great athlete that has enough talent at quarterback to play that position in college or it is possible he moves out to wide receiver to use his speed.
Jackson is also a very good basketball player and there are reports that he could receive scholarship offers for that also.
It is still very early in the recruiting process as he is a 2022 graduate, but IU has been in constant contact with him and feels they have a good shot to get him.
While his brother probably still won’t be at IU when he graduates high school, it is a good recruiting tool to have. Jackson-Davis has loved his time in Bloomington and just announced he is returning for his sophomore season.
Jackson was regularly seen at IU basketball games rooting his brother on, so he is very familiar with the school. Having that type of advantage for a recruit is invaluable.
He still has two years left in college to see how he develops but he is a guy to keep an eye on in the future for IU football.
