Nick Westbrook signed a free-agent deal with the Tennessee Titans shortly after the NFL draft concluded on Saturday. Will he be a good fit in Nashville?

One of the best receivers to ever come out of Bloomington went undrafted this weekend, but quickly signed a free-agent deal with the Tennessee Titans. Nick Westbrook reportedly had offers from multiple clubs but decided the best fit would be with the Titans.

Westbrook played in an Indiana record 52 games including 36 starts. His best year was his sophomore year when he hauled in 54 balls for 995 yards, which was second in the Big Ten. His numbers dropped after he lost his Junior season to a torn ACL, but he was still a very productive receiver for the Hoosiers.

Westbrook will look to find a niche with the Titans, but with the lack of offseason workouts do the COVID-19, it will be interesting to see when he can get in camp and show Tennessee what he can do.

Undrafted free agent signings normally have to do some of the dirty work to find a spot of the team, like playing special teams. This is something that will probably fit Westbrook well as he has experience returning kicks. He also has a reputation for being a team-first guy and that is exactly what he will need to continue to do to find a spot.

While special teams might be the way he makes his mark, the Titans are not loaded at the receiver position and he could find his time there also. AJ Brown led the Titans with 84 catches 1.051 yards, but Corey Davis was the only other Tennessee wideout to gain more than 500 yards.

The Titans did make it to the AFC Championship game last year but did so mostly on the back of running back Derrick Henry. They are definitely a run-first offense, but with the continued good play of Ryan Tannehill they may open it up more.

Westbrook is definitely going to have to work his way up, but there are definitely chances for him to make an impact with the Titans. This feels like a really good fit for Westbrook and while it would have been nice to get drafted, he is still getting the opportunity to realize his NFL dream.
