The Indiana football offered a scholarship to BJ Harris, a 3-star class of 2021 running back from Tennessee on Thursday.

The Hoosiers and Tom Allen continue to stay busy on the recruiting trail in April as they extended an offer to three-star class of 2021 running back BJ Harris on Thursday. Harris announced the offer on his twitter page.

Harris plays for McCallie School, a private school in Chattanooga, Tennessee. He is ranked as the 32nd prospect in the state of Tennessee according to 247sports. He is also ranked as the 76th running back in the country.

Harris is not a big kid at 5’10, but he is a hard runner with breakaway speed. He would be a big pickup for the Hoosiers as they are starting to get thin at the running back position due to others transferring.

Harris already has 12 other offers including fellow Big Ten school Nebraska. He is also getting a lot of interest from SEC schools, as he has offers from Tennessee, Vanderbilt, LSU, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Missouri, South Carolina, and Kentucky.

It will be hard to pry him away from the SEC and possibly his home state Volunteers, but Allen had to feel like they had a good enough meeting with Harris to offer him a scholarship. This again shows that Indiana is not afraid to jump in the picture of some big-time recruits. If they can start pulling in some of these guys they can start to turn the tides for the Hoosiers.
