Indiana football: Hoosiers get graduate DL transfer from Stanford
By Adam Childs
The Indiana football team signed Jovan Swann, a graduate transfer from Stanford. Swann comes back home to Indiana to play for the Hoosiers.
Jovan Swann is coming back home as a graduate transfer. Swann is from Greenwood, Indiana and played his high school ball at Center Grove. He decided to head out west to play for Stanford after he graduated and had a decent but not great career. After getting his degree in Human Biology from Stanford he decided to become a graduate transfer and has landed back in his home state when on Wednesday he signed with the Indiana Hoosiers.
Tom Allen was excited to have Swann join the Hoosiers as was quoted on IUHoosiers.com about him.
"“We are pleased to welcome Javon to our program,” head coach Tom Allen said. “He is a young man from just up the road who started the last couple of years at Stanford. Javon’s a very mature, sound player who will make our team better. He brings us tremendous leadership and production.”"
Swann will have one year of eligibility left after his time with the Cardinal. Swann started for two years on the defensive line at Stanford as was an Honorable Mention All-Pac 12 in 2018. Last year Swann was second on the team with 5.5 sacks.
He should bring some added experience and depth for the Hoosiers defensive line who are looking to improve on that side of the ball this year.
