Indiana Basketball: Hoosiers commits Leal and Galloway make 2020 Indiana All-Star team
By Adam Childs
The Indiana basketball team has two incoming recruits named to the Indiana All-Star team in Anthony Leal and Trey Galloway.
The Indiana high school all-star team was announced on Monday and the Hoosiers have two commits represented. Anthony Leal from Bloomington South and Trey Galloway from Culver Academy were both selected for the team of 13 players.
The Indiana all-star team is scheduled to play three games in June. One against the Junior all-stars and then a home and home with the Kentucky all-stars in the annual series. The games are still scheduled to be played but are in doubt because of the coronavirus.
Leal led Bloomington South with 18.2 points per game and Galloway led Culver Academy scoring 21.4 points per game. They headline the 2020 recruiting class for the Hoosiers as they await word on if fellow Indiana high school player Khristian Lander will reclassify.
If the game between the seniors and juniors happens Leal and Galloway will get a chance to play against Lander in the exhibition game. Lander was announced to the Junior core group of all-stars a little over a week ago.
Leal had already been selected as the player as MaxPreps player of the year in the state of Indiana. He had led his team to a sectional championship and was going to play their first regional game against Floyd Central before the tournament got canceled. Leal and Bloomington South would have run into Lander and Evansville Reitz in the regional final had they both won.
Both Leal and Galloway have shown to be great scorers and will look to take that to the next level at Indiana. But first, they hope they can team up and take down the Kentucky all-stars in June.
