The Indiana football team kept the recruiting train rolling as they nabbed a local three-star tight end on Friday.
The quarantine might be keeping everybody at home, but that hasn’t stopped Tom Allen from getting commitments from the 2021 class. On Friday three-star tight end Aaron Steinfeldt made his intentions known to go to continue his football career with the Hoosiers.
Steinfeldt is a local product from Bloomington North High School. He is ranked as the 12th prospect from the state of Indiana according to 247Sports and 32nd tight end in the country. He chose IU over Boise State, Central Michigan, Cincinnati, and Ball State. He always seemed destined to pick Indiana but to actually receive the commitment is big for the Hoosiers.
It was the second 2021 commitment for Allen and company in two days as they were able to get DE Cooper Jones on board on Thursday. The Hoosiers have definitely become more of a force on the recruiting trail with Allen. They still have a bit to go to reach some of the top schools in the country but are trending in the right direction.
Steinfeldt is a big body, standing at 6-foot-5 and 230 pounds and has been a force in high school. He caught 40 passes for 535 yards and five touchdowns in just eight games in the 2019 season. He is also a 10.6 point per game scorer on the basketball team. He is a very good athlete that should be able to have an impact for the Hoosiers.
