3. Dayton Flyers

Talk about fun, I think this would be a terrific matchup that could turn into a bit of a rivalry even more so than some of the other programs mentioned.

Now some may say, ‘Dayton isn’t on the same page as Indiana in terms of success’ and while that is true historically, that is extremely inaccurate recently. Dayton actually has the nod when it comes to wins over the past six seasons, 140-120, and has one more NCAA Tournament appearance in that time as well.

And if you say something about the conference, then you have an extremely short memory as most fans were very happy when Archie Miller was hired from Dayton just a little over three years ago.

Not only is Dayton emerging as one of the better and consistent programs in college basketball but they are doing it quietly.

This is a series that not many, if any, programs would want to take on. But, I think it would be extremely fun to see a home-and-home between the two given their proximity to each other.

I mean, how awesome would it be to see Archie Miller back in Dayton on the court that arguably made his career? Or Anthony Grant in Assembly Hall coming off of winning AP Coach of the Year this season.

Obviously this won’t happen in 2020, or most likely 2021, but this is a series you can’t ignore when talking about potential non-conference games that should be scheduled.
