The Indiana basketball program has a rich history with five National Championship teams. Which was the best and how do they rank amongst each other?
When you think of the greatest college basketball programs in the rich history of the game, the Indiana basketball program is definitely one of them.
Despite not having the best success over the past two decades, the Hoosiers are still one of the programs that come to mind when you think of ‘college basketball greats’.
Tied for fourth all-time with five National Championships, Indiana is behind the likes of North Carolina (6), Kentucky (8) and UCLA (11), and tied with Duke.
While Indiana had two National Championships before Bob Knight came to Bloomington, Knight is the sole reason the Indiana basketball program is what it is today. Without Knight, the Hoosiers may not have won three more titles, or even just one.
Having multiple championships to rank, five had significant moments for each team.
