Ole Miss and Mississippi State

So to be honest this has more to do with the coaches at the schools than the schools themselves. Mississippi State went out and hired Mike Leach from Washington State and not too long after that Ole Miss snatched Lane Kiffin from FAU.

Both coaches’ press conferences are must-see events. Leach says some of the craziest things, while Kiffin does nothing to hide his arrogance. They are both two of the biggest characters in the country and would be a blast to see play our Hoosiers.

While playing them would be fun from the coaches’ standpoint, it would also bring two SEC schools into Big Ten country. In case you haven’t noticed that is not something that happens very often. The SEC doesn’t like to venture up north. It seems like whenever they actually do play a Big Ten team it is at a neutral site.

It is starting to maybe change soon and that is why these two teams could be a good matchup for the Hoosiers. It would give Indiana a Power Five opponent and one from the mighty SEC. These teams are in the same boat as the Hoosiers, trying to make their way up a very tough conference. It will take a while before any of these teams can jump the powerhouses that reside at the top.

These two teams would be a fairly even match with the Hoosiers and give the fans an opportunity to see teams they don’t normally see. Indiana needs to invade the state of Mississippi.
