1. Cam Jones – LB

Jones will be a Junior in 2020 and has played well as a backup to Reakwon Jones, who had a big year last year. Reakwon Jones was the second leading tackler for the Hoosiers last year with 55 tackles including 39 solo ones.

But his backup was just about as good. Cam Jones, a 6’3″ 227 pound Junior from Memphis, had 35 tackles of his own. His big game was a six tackle, two-sack performance against Rutgers last year.

Jones, also had a very good freshman year where he led the team with two forced fumbles. He also had 20 tackles and was a very solid piece of the Hoosiers defense.

Jones, will now more than likely be the starter at middle linebacker and is ready to show that he can be the man on the defensive side of the ball.

Indiana has struggled on the defensive side of the ball and will need guys to step up in 2020 and Jones looks like on the best bets to do that. He has a lot of speed and a knack for the ball. He flies around the field and ha shown he can wreak havoc on opposing quarterbacks and also cover receivers and tight ends.

Jones has already shown he can produce in a limited capacity and now just needs he can do that when he is the one out there for the majority of the snaps. If he can continue to be the dynamic player he has shown at the linebacker spot he has the potential to break out and be the most important player on that side of the ball for the Hoosiers.
