Indiana Basketball: 3 early storylines for 2020-21 season
By Alec Lasley
While next year is still months away, it’s not too early to look at some of the storylines surrounding each program. For Indiana basketball, here are three.
This season was an up-and-down year for Indiana basketball but looking ahead to next season brings a lot of excitement and high expectations. For Archie Miller, it’s year four and he will need to get it done in order to keep his name off of the ‘hot seat’ moving forward.
In Miller’s first three seasons, there has been a lot of growth but also a lot of learning pains. There have been losses to Indiana State, IPFW and a losing streak that was 12-of-13 games. But, there have also been 10 wins over ranked opponents in that same timeframe.
The Hoosiers, who would have been in the NCAA Tournament this season, are looking to take a major step forward in 2020 and make a deep run come March. In order to do that, they will need some of their current players to take the next step in their production, as well as see some more consistency from everyone on the roster.
While most programs at this time are awaiting the decisions of players who are testing the waters of the NBA, it looks as if the entire roster that has remaining eligibility will be back in Bloomington.
Despite losing Devonte Green and De’Ron Davis, Indiana will have their best roster makeup since Archie Miller arrived three years ago.
Though it’s just March, here are three early storylines for Archie Miller and the Indiana basketball program ahead of the 2020-21 season.
