10. Hoosiers beat Nebraska in last game of the year

When the Hoosiers faced off against the Cornhuskers on a Wednesday night in Indianapolis, it wasn’t on anyone’s mind that this would be the last game of the year. Indiana was looking to get the win and all but solidify their berth into the NCAA tournament.

Indiana was having to play on the first day of the tournament after losing the tie-breaker to Purdue due to their head-to-head record during the year. Even though they had to play it gave them a chance to pick up another win to help their NCAA resume.

It didn’t start off well for the Hoosiers, though, as the Cornhuskers were playing with an energy they hadn’t seen in a few weeks. Due in part to another one of Indiana’s long droughts Nebraska led 33-27 with 4:05 left in the first half.

Luckily, the Hoosiers woke up and finished off the half on a 16-1 run to take a nine-point lead into halftime. It was looking like Indiana was doing everything they could to torpedo their season, but the run seemed to save their season.

Indiana would continue that run into the second half and build a comfortable lead. The Cornhuskers wouldn’t get any closer than 13 points the rest of the way as the Hoosiers ran away with a 25 point win. Trayce Jackson-Davis capped off his great freshman year with another double-double including a career-high 17 rebounds. It was a great last 24 minutes of basketball to remember the Hoosiers by this year and a fitting end to the 2019-20 season.
