Indiana Football: 4 bold predictions for next season
By Alec Lasley
3. Indiana Finishes Season Ranked
The 2019 season was one to remember for Indiana but 2020 is the season that will be one fans won’t forget.
After reaching the AP Top 25 for the first time since 1994, the Hoosiers failed to stay in there for more than a week.
While that was a big step as a program, the next progression is to be a constant member in the rankings for the majority of the year, and end the season ranked.
The Hoosiers will play at least four ranked teams next season with three of them coming in three of the last five weeks of the year. Add in Wisconsin in the season opener and then teams like Michigan State, Illinois and Purdue who could float around and make appearances if the season goes well.
Because of that, the Hoosiers will have all of the opportunity in the world to build a terrific resume.
If the Hoosiers win the games they are supposed to, take at least two wins against the teams mentioned above and then breakthrough and finally beat one or two of the cream of the crop of the Big Ten, ending the year ranked will be easy.
It won’t be an easy path but the Hoosiers are ready for this next step and it needs to come in 2020.
