Ball Handling And Spacing

Point Guard: Khristian Lander

Shooting Guard: Rob Phinisee

Small Forward: Al Durham

Power Forward: Justin Smith

Center: Trayce Jackson-Davis

Similarly to the last lineup, this lineup puts three shooters on the floor, giving added spacing the Hoosiers so desperately need. This time, it’s at the cost of some size.

Rob Phinisee is an excellent player who helps the Hoosiers in all sorts of ways. It is important he plays a hefty load of minutes no matter what the starting lineup is. Here, he lines up next to Lander to relieve the freshman of some of the ball handling duties.

Phinisee is also probably the best spot-up shooter on the current roster and provides a calm leadership to this team. Playing him next to Lander, as talented as he is, may be beneficial.

Archie Miller loses five inches compared to the lineup with Jerome Hunter, but Phinisee is a proven lockdown perimeter defender, a better ball handler, and will be a proven junior next year.

There’s only one newcomer to the starting lineup in this scenario as opposed to two with the last.
