6. at Ohio State – Week 10
The game at Ohio State is the second of a brutal four-game stretch for the Hoosiers. It is also a chance for Indiana to once again try and break a long losing streak to the Buckeyes. It won’t be easy though as Ohio State returns quarterback Justin Fields. They do lose a lot of talent from their 2019 team, but the Buckeyes just tend to reload instead of rebuild.
The Hoosiers have played the Buckeyes tough at times during this long losing streak, but they haven’t been able to breakthrough. They will be huge underdogs in this game, but if they could somehow pull off this upset, we may be looking at one of the best seasons in Indiana’s history.
5. at Michigan – Week 12
This is another team that the Hoosiers have not beat in a long time. You have to go all the way back to 1987 to find a game where Indiana beat the Wolverines in football. But it hasn’t been for a lack of not being close. The Hoosiers have taken Michigan to overtime on a few occasions and looked ready to pull off the upset only to come up just short.
Playing at Michigan is never easy, but the Hoosiers have never seemed to be intimidated by the Big House and this could be a huge win heading into the season finale against Purdue. They also may be able to catch the Wolverines looking past them to their annual matchup with Ohio State in the Game.
4. vs Penn State – Week 9
The Hoosiers almost pulled off a big upset at Penn State last year. They were in it the whole game and had a chance to win the fourth quarter but couldn’t quite get it done. The Nittany Lions return their quarterback and are stacked at running back, but the Hoosiers can still compete with Penn State.
This is the first game in their rough stretch of games and its the only home game against the top three teams in the Big Ten East. This is a huge game for the Hoosiers because if they pull off this upset they could be looking at another eight-win regular season or better.
