2. Hoosiers get revenge against Kentucky

A couple of years after losing to Kentucky in the Sweet 16, the Hoosiers got their revenge.

Led by Yogi Ferrell, one of the best players in Indiana basketball history, the Hoosiers reached the Sweet 16 once again following a major victory over Kentucky.

In one of the best rivalries in college basketball, it was another great matchup between the two historic programs as Indiana knocked off Kentucky 73-67.

A hard-fought game that went down to the final minute, it was a freshman in Thomas Bryant that lifted IU to the win. He scored 15 of his 19 points in the final eight minutes of the game.

Despite losing starting guard Robert Johnson to an ankle injury in the first half and reserve forward Juwan Morgan to a shoulder injury, the Hoosiers would not bow down. Their win forced Kentucky out of the NCAA Tournament for its earliest exit since 2008.

This was the first matchup since John Calipari called off the home-and-home series, something that has since caused even more of a stir between the two programs.

Indiana would then fall to North Carolina in the Sweet 16, but that win over Kentucky kept the Hoosiers’ fans on a high for a while.
