The Indiana football program is quickly approaching spring practice and that means it is time for certain players to step up.

The weather is getting nicer – in some parts of the country – basketball is nearing the end of its season and early enrollees are starting to step on campus for college football programs. What does this mean? Spring practice is right around the corner for Indiana football.

After a program changing season in 2019, the Hoosiers are looking to take an even bigger step up and not only get to another bowl game but finally, win it.

Not only do they have most of their star players returning, but another year in the system and another offseason to get better only means good things for IU.

Tom Allen has brought in another talented class in 2020 and looks to continue to build the depth that is needed to compete at the top of the Big Ten.

Not only will some freshmen play significant roles for this team, but some will also look to break into the lineup immediately.

With that, there are a few names that could make a critical impact this spring and become major players heading into the summer and eventually the fall.

Here are three names to watch for as potential candidates for a breakout spring.
