Indiana basketball is looking to stay on its hot recruiting trend after landing five-star guard Khristian Lander earlier this week.

It has been a great week for Indiana basketball recruiting as Archie Miller landed his point guard of the future with 2021 five-star Khristian Lander. The Indiana native chose to stay home and will now decide on joining the 2020 class or staying in 2021. Either way, Indiana basketball is starting to solve some of its backcourt issues.

If Lander stays in 2021, the Hoosiers could be in store to land two of the best guards in the country. According to reports, the Hoosiers are at the top of the list for five-star wing Aminu Mohammed and are working the hardest to land him.

Mohammed is the No. 14 overall prospect in the 2021 class and is one of the most versatile and offensive skilled wings in the country.

The Hoosiers have been in Mohammed’s ear for a while as they were one of the first teams to reach out to him on June 15, the first day teams could have direct phone contact with the rising junior class. Since then, there has been a big connection and mutual interest between the two.

It has been widely discussed the inconsistencies that Indiana has with its backcourt and landing Lander was a huge step in the right direction. But if the Hoosiers and Archie Miller eventually pair him with Aminu Mohammed on the wing, Indiana’s offense would completely open up.

Jerry Meyer, Director of Basketball Scouting for 247Sports, spoke on Mohammed’s game.

"“Not long for a wing but has a big, strong build,” Meyer wrote. “Can overwhelm opponents with strength and athleticism. Plays with great energy. Competes everywhere on the court. Good ball-handler and passer. Scoring off the dribble is his greatest strength. Developing long-range shooter. Quality rebounder and defender. Should develop into a first-round NBA draft choice.”"

Indiana isn’t the only school to be heavily involved in his recruitment, however. Louisville, Georgetown, K-State, and Maryland are the other programs near the top of his list.

Though no date is set in stone, it has been made clear over the past few months that Aminu Mohammed will be in Bloomington in the near future for an official visit.
