Indiana Basketball: Hoosiers land point guard of future in Khristian Lander
By Alec Lasley
The Indiana basketball program received a commitment from the top point guard in the country in the 2021 class Khristian Lander.
Archie Miller has stressed the fact about keeping the top in-state products in Indiana and once again he and the Indiana basketball program received a commitment from a top in-state product.
On Tuesday night, 2021 five-star point guard Khristian Lander announced on Twitter his commitment to Indiana. He also had Michigan, Louisville, and Memphis in his final four.

Archie Miller has now kicked off his 2021 recruiting class in style by landing the top point guard in the country and one of the best playmakers in the entire country.
Why did Lander choose now to commit? He told 247Sports that it was just time.
"“I committed because they stayed relevant the entire time. I was a priority no matter what type of recruits they could have gotten,” Lander said. “I’m ready to turn up the Hoosier community!”"
Khristian Lander is currently ranked No. 11 in the country and the No. 1 point guard in the 2021 class.
Now, the question is whether or not Lander will choose to reclassify to the 2020 class. It has been a possible option for the Indiana native for a while now and remains an option.
With Indiana’s lack of a true ball handler and point guard in the 2020 recruiting class, Lander fits the mold perfectly. A high-impact player no matter when or where he enrolls in college, Lander fits into Archie Miller’s offensive system of shifting towards always having two main ball handlers on the floor. At times this season, you can see the downfall in Indiana’s offensive efficiency when Rob Phinisee is off of the floor, leaving the ball-handling duties to non-traditional point guards.
If he were to join the 2020 class, he would join Anthony Leal, Trey Galloway, and Jordan Geronimo.
