One prospect in the 2021 class that is being undervalued could be a big steal for the Indiana basketball program.

Thus far for Indiana basketball and the 2021 recruiting class, most of the talk has been surrounding the talented prospects in the state, headlined by the top trio. Recently, however, it has been one name outside of that group, and state, that has been turning heads, especially with Archie Miller.

With zero commits thus far for 2021, and still trying to fill out a few more spots in 2020, Archie Miller continues to be on the recruiting trail as much as possible. One prospect that has garnered more and more attention is Louis Lesmond. The French native has taken his talents stateside and has been one of the most intriguing midwestern prospects as of late.

Lesmond is currently residing in Illinois and plays his high school ball for Notre Dame College Prep. Rated as a four-star prospect, but not officially in the 247Sports rankings due to his international background, Lesmond holds offers from Nebraska, Illinois, Oklahoma and Xavier amongst others, but has also received interest from Indiana, Marquette, and Wisconsin as of late.

On Friday, it was Archie Miller and Tom Ostrom who took a trip to see Lesmond play.

The 6-foot-5 wing is known for his shooting stroke and scoring ability and brings valuable international experience playing for France in the 2018 U16 European Championships. Still adjusting to the high school game, Lesmond is a bit inconsistent at times but shows his potential with multiple 20+ point games this season.

Lesmond and his family do have ties to the state of Indiana, however. His dad, David, played college basketball at Purdue after spending his prep days in France.

After spending most of his sophomore season as a backup, Lesmond is starting to step into the spotlight and look for his play to continue to spark the interest of high-major coaches around the country as we make our way into the summer.
