Indiana Basketball: End of season buy or sell for Hoosiers
By Adam Childs
Indiana will make the quarterfinals of the Big Ten tournament
SELL
If the Big Ten tournament started today the Hoosiers would be playing Northwestern in the first round. With a win, they would be playing Illinois in the second round. But with the way the Big Ten has been this year and how clumped the standings are the Hoosiers could find any number of teams in the second round. They could also find themselves not having to play in the first round which would be even better for Indiana.
The chances for any team to make the quarterfinals obviously depends on who they play. If the Hoosiers got to play Wisconsin it would be the best-case scenario. Yes, the Badgers whipped the Hoosiers earlier in the year, but of the teams Indiana could be playing it would be the one that most fans would be ok with.
Most of the other teams present tougher matchups for the Hoosiers and would make it tough for them to make the Quarterfinals. Indiana has shown they can beat almost anyone in the conference with big wins over Michigan State, Ohio State, and Iowa, and near-miss against Maryland. But how confident would the fans be with the Hoosiers playing any of those teams again?
It would not be a surprise if the Hoosiers got hot and made a Final Four run in the conference tournament, but it’s not one many would bet on. So, for now, we will SELL that they even make the quarterfinals.
