The Indiana basketball team could not make it two wins in a row as they lost at Michigan on Sunday afternoon.

The Hoosiers got off to a quick start on Sunday but couldn’t keep it up as Michigan picked apart the Indiana defense en route to a blowout win. The Wolverines continually found open guys inside as they seemingly scored at will all game long. Michigan used that advantage to pull away and blow out the Hoosiers 89-65

De’Ron Davis was the lone bright spot for the Hoosiers as he scored a career-high 18 points on 9 of 9 shooting. Al Durham scored 14 points for Indiana but after hitting two early three-pointers he was largely ineffective.

Despite Michigan playing well in the first half, the Hoosiers would go into the break down only seven. A push to start the second half got the Hoosiers as close as five a couple of times, but then the Wolverines took control and never looked back.

Michigan would get the lead up to as many as 23 in the second half and the Hoosiers could never get closer to 17 the rest of the way.

The Wolverines, normally a three-point heavy team, shot 22-37 from inside the arc as they dominated Indiana. The Hoosiers looked lost on defense for long stretches of the game and Michigan took advantage.

Trayce Jackson-Davis, the teams leading scorer, was held to just one shot in the first half and just three shots for the game. Devonte Green had a frustrating game also, as he would hit just a single three on just seven shots and finished the game with three points.

It was a disappointing game for the Hoosiers after their big win against Iowa earlier this week and Indiana will be right back on the bubble of the last four teams in the tournament.

The only good news for the Hoosiers is that it was a road game and not a bad loss statistically, but they need to find a way to be more consistent.

It was a scene all too familiar for Hoosier fans and they hope they can solve some of their problems before another tough road game this week at Minnesota. The Hoosiers will be back in must-win mode when they travel to Minneapolis for the midweek game.
