The former Indiana basketball standout was part of multiple trades on Tuesday night and will be headed to the Denver Nuggets.

With the NBA trade deadline rapidly approaching, the next 36 hours will be very hectic with a few trades already being made. As a couple of former Indiana basketball players have been involved in trade talks, one player is already on the move.

Former Indiana big man Noah Vonleh was traded to the Denver Nuggets on Tuesday as part of a four-team trade that included the Minnesota Timberwolves, Houston Rockets, and Atlanta Hawks, according to Jon Krawczynski.

Vonleh, who hadn’t seen action in the past nine games for the Timberwolves, looks to fill some sort of frontcourt role with the Nuggets, something he was unable to accomplish in Minnesota. Depending on how long backup center Mason Plumlee is sidelined with injury, Vonleh could see action immediately spotting time for Nikola Jokic.

In 29 games this season, Vonleh averaged 4.1 points and 4.0 rebounds over 12.0 minutes per game for the Timberwolves.

Overall, Vonleh was one of 12 players involved in the four-team deal, headlined by the Rockets sending Clint Capela to the Hawks and receiving Robert Covington from the Timberwolves.

For most of the night, the Timberwolves were trying to agree on a trade for D’Angelo Russell from the Golden State Warriors, but the asking price was too high, leaving Vonleh for the Nuggets.

As for Vonleh’s future, both this season and in the offseason, he goes to a franchise that is a lot better equipped for winning now. The Nuggets rank third in the Western Conference with a 35-16 record, a long way from the Timberwolves at 15-34.
