Indiana basketball’s 68-59 loss to Ohio State Saturday was a rough one, rife with offensive struggles and poor mistakes which led to a miserable result.

It was a struggle for the Indiana basketball program on Saturday as it added another loss to the record, and continues its losing streak, now up to three games.

33 percent of Indiana’s offense was generated in the last six minutes of the game when hope was already lost. Before that, the Hoosiers had 40 points after 34 minutes of basketball.

Trayce Jackson-Davis didn’t get much of an opportunity to contribute on offense, scoring only seven points on six attempts. Rob Phinisee and Devonte Green led the way offensively, scoring 11 and 13 points respectively.

Indiana had fewer rebounds and assists and more turnovers than Ohio State in this game. There were very few bright spots to reflect on as the team returned to Bloomington.

The Hoosiers continue to toy with their fans’ hearts. After beating Michigan State last week, it seemed like they were set to turn over a new leaf. They even constructed 39 minutes of good basketball against Maryland before goofing away the game in the last minute. They followed up those two performances by laying two eggs in one week and creating more questions, particularly about the offense.

As of now, Indiana is safely in the NCAA Tournament discussion, but continuing on its current trajectory could lead to missing their fourth straight tournament and warm up Archie Miller’s seat quite a bit.

As Indiana prepares for a pivotal stretch of their season, let’s take a look at three takeaways from its game against Ohio State.
