The Indiana football program will headline the NFL playoffs this weekend as three former players suit up on Championship weekend.

The NFL playoffs are still in full swing and with that means there are still a few former Indiana football players who are starring for their respective teams as Championship weekend commences.

While multiple Hoosiers were involved at the start of the playoffs a few weeks ago, it has dwindled down to just three, with two playing extremely crucial roles for their teams.

In the first matchup of the day, the Tennessee Titans and Rodger Saffold are set to take on the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship game and Saffold has been instrumental in the Titans success this season.

Coming over from the Los Angeles Rams in the offseason, Saffold has been the glue that has given way to the NFL’s leading rusher in Derrick Henry. Henry, who has now surpassed 150 yards in three consecutive games in the postseason, has become only the second running back in NFL history to do so. In the 2019 postseason, Henry is averaging 188.5 yards per game.

In the second matchup of the day, it will be two Hoosiers facing off. Tevin Coleman and the San Francisco 49ers are set to take on Jason Spriggs and the Green Bay Packers in the NFC Championship.

Coleman, who was a solid offseason addition for the 49ers, saw an inconsistent season come to fruition last week when he exploded for 105 yards and two touchdowns leading the 49ers to victory over the Minnesota Vikings. Part of a crowded backfield, his experience in the postseason has already paid dividends for the 49ers and his comfort in Kyle Shanahan’s offense continues to blossom, dating back to their days together with the Atlanta Falcons.

Despite the Packers playing tonight, Spriggs will unfortunately be remained sidelined as he has all year with an injury.

Game one takes place at 3:05 pm ET, while the second game is at 6:40 pm ET.
