Indiana Basketball: 2020 commit has huge game, highlight dunk in loss
By Alec Lasley
One Indiana basketball commit went off on Wednesday night with a huge scoring output and also added a nice highlight dunk.
While the Indiana basketball program is in the midst of an inconsistent season, there are still some highlights and promising actions happening around the program. One of those highlights happens to be with one 2020 commit.
Jordan Geronimo, one of three 2020 commits for Archie Miller and Indiana, exploded for a big game on Wednesday. The St. Paul’s School forward had a career-night as he went for a career-best 32 points on 12-of-19 from the field, and 11 rebounds, while adding three assists and four blocks. Despite his efforts, St. Paul’s School would fall to Tilton on a buzzer-beater, 73-71.
Two of his points, however, should’ve counted for a bit more.
Geronimo was one of the biggest risers over the summer as he went from unranked to a four-star prospect ranked as high as No. 79 in the 2020 class. Best in transition, Geronimo is one of the most athletic players in the country and also has a strong frame and good length to finish through contact at the rim. He also has a good ability to knock down three’s, but could get more consistent from game to game.
The way Archie Miller uses his wings in multiple different scenarios is not only going to benefit Geronimo with his ability to play multiple positions on the offensive end, but also guard positions 1-4 on the defensive end with, his 7-foot+ wingspan.
For the rest of the 2020 recruiting class for the Hoosiers, Archie Miller has commitments from Anthony Leal and Trey Galloway, to go along with Geronimo. As it stands now, Indiana’s class ranks No. 29 in the country.
