2. Westbrook’s diving catch against Maryland

Indiana entered their game against Maryland 4-2 on the year but was without a win on the road. Maryland came in with a 3-3 record but had shown they could score a lot of points. It was a game Indiana needed to win to show they were a team ready to make to the next step.

The first half went back and forth and Maryland led 21-17 late in the first half but Indiana was driving. With 24 seconds left Ramsey, who had come in for Penix Jr who was hurt, lofted a ball to the corner of the end zone. Nick Westbrook laid out and made an unbelievable grab to put the Hoosiers up and give them a lead they would never relinquish.

It was a great catch and one that seemed to change the momentum of the game. Check it out here (it is the third video if you scroll through)

The game was sealed by an interception by Reese Taylor with 1:22 left in the game. The Hoosiers were able to run the rest of the clock out and pick up their first of three road wins on the year.

While Taylor’s interception finished off the Terrapins, it was Westbrook’s catch in the first half that turned the game and was one of the best plays of the year for the Hoosiers.
