The former Indiana basketball guard has had a couple of strong outings since returning from a knee injury.

After missing some time with a knee injury, former Indiana basketball guard Eric Gordon has returned to the court and looks to have regained some confidence as he looks like his old self.

Gordon, who missed the past 22 games, had not played since Nov 11 before he returned to the Houston Rockets’ lineup on Dec 29.

Struggling with his shot for the majority of his nine games played this year, Gordon was shooting just 30.1 percent from the field and 25.9 percent from three before his injury.

Known best for his shooting ability though, he was spectacular last season in the playoffs for the Rockets and was a major part of the organizational success over the past few years.

In his two games since he has returned, he is averaging 16.0 points per game while shooting 52.6 percent form the field and more importantly, 58.3 percent from deep (7-of-12)..

Although Gordon had started the past two games while others were out of the lineup, the 11-year vet was on a minutes restriction as he continues to get his legs under him again after missing those six weeks.

Right now, the Rockets sit at fourth in the Western Conference at 23-11, and with an already limited bench, having Gordon back will give them another scoring option outside of James Harden and Russell Westbrook. With the Rockets’ 19th ranked three-point shooting team (35.2%), if Gordon can continue to shoot the ball the way he has throughout his career, it will bring an added dimension to the floor that the Rockets are lacking at the moment.
