Indiana football put together a class of 17 commits in 2020 but which players will have the biggest impact as a true freshman?
It was another successful signing day for Tom Allen and the Indiana football program as another talented class is set to begin their college careers in Bloomington. While the class size itself isn’t as big as the previous two, it is actually just as talented, if not more.
True freshmen are normally not guys who come in right away and make a huge impact on the field as they are molding their body into becoming a college football player, but more and more over the past three years we have seen true freshmen make big impacts for their programs right away.
Look no further than Tiawan Mullen for the Hoosiers this past year. While it took him the first few weeks to get settled in, he became Indiana’s best cover cornerback on the roster and one of the best defensive backs nationally.
For Allen and the Hoosiers, they return 38 players who were constant members of the rotation from this season, and even more impressive, they have the ability to bring back 17 starters from an 8-4 team that had one of the best seasons in program history.
So while there may not be a ton of opportunities to be day one starters, or even starters come seasons end, there are still ways to make immediate impacts on the field.
With that, here are three players who have a chance to find a lot of early playing time, and take full advantage of that in 2020.
