The Indiana football program continues to make strides with its 2020 recruiting class, especially with one top four-star target.

With national signing day’s early signing period beginning next week, on December 18, the Indiana football program has remained extremely active on the recruiting trail since capping off the 2019 regular season in style with a win against Purdue.

With time in-between the game against Purdue and the TaxSlayor Gator Bowl, the Hoosiers spent time hosting multiple top targets over the past week and a half and visiting prospects for in-home visits, which resulted in a flurry of commitments this past weekend. One player who took a recent official visit to Indiana was Jason Harris. The four-star defensive end is ranked as the No. 186 prospect in the 247Sports composite rankings and is a high priority for multiple programs.

One part of Indiana’s game that lacked this season was getting to the quarterback, just 26 sacks on the season, which led to an Indiana secondary that was exposed in almost every game. With that in mind, the Hoosiers have started to amp of the pressure on Harris.

Following his visit to Indiana, Harris described how it went, and what stood out about the Indiana program.

"“Indiana went well and it was everything I thought it could be and more,” Harris said. “The coaches were great. It was eye opening to see how great of a person coach (Tom) Allen is. He’s a players’ coach; he has so much support for not only his players but his staff. I saw that throughout the weekend and that really stood out for me.”"

Harris announced a list of his top six schools over the summer, including Oregon, Colorado, Arizona, Texas A&M, UCLA, and Arizona State. Despite the lack of involvement that Indiana had prior to the past month or so, the Hoosiers have quickly made an impression on the Arizona native.

Currently, Harris plans to make his commitment announcement at the Under Armour All-America Game on January 2.
