Indiana basketball’s game Saturday versus the Wisconsin Badgers offered a performance that IU can only hope is its worst of the season, losing 84-64.

There were almost no positives for the Indiana basketball program on Saturday afternoon. I spent the majority of the game watching the TV between my fingers with my hands pressed on my face like I would in a horror movie. It was truly a horror story for the Hoosiers.

Wisconsin finished the game shooting 54 percent from the field and 40 percent from three with just four turnovers. Indiana finished shooting 42 percent from the field and 36 percent from three with 12 turnovers.

The Badgers had struggled to find the net effectively this season, but came out on fire Saturday. This situation was made worse by the quality of shots Indiana consistently gave up the whole game.

Indiana’s effort was lackluster until the garbage time minutes of the game when it was too late to come back. They gave up open shots to good shooters, forced bad shots on offense, and played with a lack of coherency similar to last season.

This game reeked of Indiana’s performance last year at Minnesota. It seemed as if IU had forgotten the scouting report for the game, the moment the first whistle blew.

Here are three takeaways from a startling Jeckle and Hyde type performance on the road in Madison.
