2. Redbox Bowl – Santa Clara, CA

December 12 vs PAC 12 opponent

The Hoosiers could do a lot worse than heading out to California to play in Levi Stadium, home of the San Francisco 49ers. Of course, the best place to go in California is to the Rose Bowl, but Indiana is not on that level, yet.

I know most fans would much rather them go to Florida and we will talk about that in a minute, but going to California is not a bad consolation prize. It is definitely better than going to Detroit and New York. The weather should be much better in Santa Clara and it’s definitely playing in a place the Hoosiers don’t normally make it out to.

If they make it to the Redbox Bowl they would be playing a PAC 12 opponent, which is also something the Hoosiers don’t do very often. It is looking like the team would be one of Washington, California or even USC. Playing California would be the least desirable opponent, but it could still be fun as they have some big wins this year.

But playing Washington or USC, two traditionally good teams out West would be a fun game for the Hoosiers. It would be games that Indiana could win and prove they belong. They would also get a little bit of recognition for knocking off those teams.

This is, however, the last bowl game that Indiana played in back in 2016, a loss to Utah by two.

The Redbox Bowl might be second on this list, but Hoosiers fans should be happy if they get chosen for this bowl. It would be a great way to cap a great season, especially if they win.
