3. Hoosiers a top 25 team

Coming into Tuesday’s game the Hoosiers were 36th in the polls, if you count teams receiving votes. Close to the top 25, but not close enough for a lot of Indiana fans. They were 7-0 and haven’t had a close game all year long. Well, as we have talked already, it wasn’t the toughest of schedules so they were still plenty of questions.

Well, they emphatically answered a big question by beating the ranked Seminoles. They proved at least for last night that the perfect record wasn’t a fluke and they can play with the better teams in the country.

This will all mean nothing if they turn around and lose at Wisconsin this weekend, but if they can beat the Badgers at the Kohl Center the Hoosiers are definitely a top 25 team. They were ranked last year before going on an extended slump in the Big Ten, but this team looks better suited to handle the success.

Last week every team in the top 25 moved as there was a lot of shakeup. This week won’t be as bad, but there are enough teams ranked right now that the Hoosiers could make a claim they are better than.

The fact that they were able to dominate the Seminoles for most of the game should help also, especially since Florida State had been playing some really good basketball as of late.

Now the Hoosiers just need to go up and take care of a Badgers team that is struggling this year. If they can win that game, next Monday the Hoosiers should be in the top 25.
