Indiana basketball has started off the 2019-2020 basketball season strong, coming into December with a perfect record of 7-0.

Indiana basketball has had its ups and downs in the opening month of the season. Coach Archie Miller made it a priority to schedule an easy opening schedule in order for the team’s new acquisitions to get some court-feel before heading into more challenging matchups.

It would appear his scheduling strategy was strong because the Hoosiers have shown both flashes of brilliance but also given cause for concern.

The offense has been the anchor for this team so far, which is very uncharacteristic for an Archie Miller-coached squad. The defense has let far inferior teams score with sometimes seemingly relative ease. At times, such as in the most recent game against South Dakota State, the offense looked lackluster and the defense is what won the game.

At this point, the identity of this Indiana team is still up in the air. They can go from having a lack of IQ on defense one game to locking up the next and will go from playing beautiful offensive basketball to turning the ball over with reckless abandon moments later.

With all these questions and flaws present, it is time for the Hoosiers to play its’ first high-major competition this December, after going 7-0 in November play.

Here, we rank the games on the docket this Holiday season in order of importance as the Hoosiers enter a crucial make-or-break point in their schedule.
