The former Indiana basketball standout played in his first career NBA game on Wednesday night, just days after signing a contract with the Utah Jazz.

On Wednesday night, former Indiana basketball star Juwan Morgan reached the highest level of basketball in the world; playing in the NBA. The rookie logged his first career minutes in the NBA while playing in the state where he spent his college years, Indiana.

In a 121-102 loss to the Indiana Pacers, Morgan saw three minutes of action and grabbed one rebound in his first action as a member of the Utah Jazz.

Starting the season with the Jazz G-Leauge affiliate Salt Lake City Stars, Morgan appeared in five games and averaged 15.6 points and 8.0 rebounds per game, while shooting 71.8 percent from the field and 42.9 percent from three.

His first appearance came just days after he inked a deal with the Jazz for two-years. After spending his entire professional career with the Jazz organization, through the pre-draft process and into the summer league, Morgan finally saw all of his hard work pay off.

Playing in 128 games over four years for the Hoosiers, he averaged 10.7 points per game and 5.7 rebounds per game for his career. After just a rotational player in his first two seasons, the Missouri native averaged 16.5 points and 7.4 rebounds as a junior, and 15.5 points and 8.2 rebounds as a senior.

Though Morgan will not be a fixture in the Jazz rotation in most games, if he is able to maintain the 43 percent rate from deep that he was in the G-League, he could see action as an important stretch forward that every NBA team loves to have on their roster.
