2. Indiana Losing Momentum From Beginning Of Season

After the first bye week, Indiana rattled off four straight wins, the first time it had been done by the program in Big Ten play since 1994. How would Indiana react after a second bye week was the question, and it hasn’t gone according to plan.

The Hoosiers are now on their first multiple game losing streak of the season after falling to both Penn State and Michigan out of the bye week and have a lot of questions without answers going into the final week of the season.

Yes, Indiana has reached a bowl game for the first time since 2016, reached seven wins for the first time 2007, have broken a ton of program records on the offensive side of the ball, and are searching for the first bowl victory since 1991, but how the Hoosiers end this season is crucial.

People have been talking all year long what a breakthrough year this has been, and while it has, Indiana could come short of a lot of the goals it set at the beginning of the year if a loss to Purdue comes next week.

Two weeks ago, there was so much momentum for the Indiana football program, even reaching the top-25 for the first time since 1994, and now after the worst half of the season in the second half against Michigan, a lot of the steam has come out of the train.

Winning against Purdue and getting back to the ways of last month will put a hold on the season coming off of the tracks and keep that momentum that Tom Allen and his team have done such a tremendous job of getting this season.
