Indiana is an NCAA tournament team

Verdict: BUY

The Hoosiers looked like they were on their way to making the NCAA tournament last year after a strong start but struggled a lot in conference play and missed out. Some argued they should have made it but a 1-12 stretch in the middle of the season is not a good impression to make when trying to make it into the tournament.

This year they are again off to a hot start even without their top two scorers from last year in Romeo Langford and Juwan Morgan. But sometimes its addition by subtraction. While the Hoosiers do miss their scoring and overall probably miss Morgan, they might be better off without Langford. The team never seemed to gel with him in the lineup and rumors of dissension in the locker room cast a cloud over his time in Bloomington.

This year the Hoosiers look more balanced and like they enjoy playing with each other more. They are buying into Archie Miller’s system and slowly they are playing better and better.

dark. Next. Hoosiers in the middle of Big Ten rankings

This plus a softer non-conference schedule that allows them to pick up a bunch of wins will help propel the Hoosiers to the tournament this year. It doesn’t hurt that a lot of the Big Ten teams are pretty even and should allow the Hoosiers to pick a good amount of conference wins and finish in the top half of the conference. If they can do that they will make it to the tournament this year and end their drought.
