The former Indiana basketball guard is expected to undergo a knee procedure that would sideline him from the Houston Rockets lineup for at least a month.

Just a little over two weeks into the NBA regular season, former Indiana basketball guard Eric Gordon has run into a bit of a wall that could keep him out of the lineup for a while.

The Houston Rockets sixth man may need knee surgery that would sideline him for 4-to-6 weeks, according to Shams Charania.

Gordon, who has been struggling to start the season – shooting just 30.9 percent form the field and 28.4 percent from deep, would undergo a procedure that would hopefully clean-up any loose fragments in his knee.

In nine games this season, Gordon has struggled to adjust to the addition of Russell Westbrook. Another ball dominant guard to go along with James Harden, Gordon has been limited to just a spot up shooter, and with his shot not falling, he has failed to contribute much while on the floor.

So far, Gordon is seeing career-lows in minutes (29.4), field goal and three-point percentage, free-throw percentage (64.3), assists (0.8), and points (10.9).

If Gordon does elect to move forward with the surgery, as expected, it could be a good month off for the 12-year vet. Coming off of a great postseason with the Rockets last year, he just hasn’t been himself on the floor this year, and his play as obviously showed it.
