With the season starting next week, we take a look at some of the key stats the Indiana basketball program needs to improve on for 2019-20.

It’s about that time. Assembly Hall will be rocking and the Indiana basketball program will take the floor for another season come Nov 5.

What has been an extra long offseason with the Hoosiers failing to reach the NCAA Tournament, fans are excited to see their team back on the court for what they hope will be a season resulting in Archie Miller’s first tournament appearance in Bloomington.

The new class, including Joey Brunk and Jerome Hunter, have already created a lot of excitement around the program throughout the summer and early parts of fall, without playing in a single regular season game for Indiana.

While there is no more Juwan Morgan or Romeo Langford this season, Devonte Green and Al Durham look to pick up the slack and step up their games, as both were voted co-captains by the rest of their teammates.

Despite Indiana showing some rust this week in their exhibition against Gannon, there were still a lot of positives to take from the only public tuneup before next Tuesday.

Miller and the Hoosiers need to improve in a lot of categories from the past year, and one of them starts with the health of the roster. While there have been players banged up throughout the preseason, there has been no major injury thus far meaning it could be one of the first times that Miller will have a full roster come week one.

Here are three key areas that the Hoosiers need to improve on this year in order to make that jump back to March.
